- We will be replacing logs on
the Northwest corner of this
log home where log rot has all but destroyed the
structural integrity of this home. Note: Everything that you see going on here, could have
been prevented. To prevent this from happening to your log home
investment, give us a call.

- 25 years old. No log preservatives. Just like any
piece of unprotected wood left outside to the elements.
-
- This log home had it all. Major damage from carpenter
ants. UV damage and general
neglect.
-
- Did we get here in the nick of time?
-
- If this had been much worse the potential for this
wall collapsing would have been critical!
-
- Considerably more going on here than weather damage
to this home's logs..
-
- You can see here that log damage was creeping in to
every where and beyond.
-
- This is a mandatory "Hard Hat Area".
-
- A real tricky part of log replacement. Cutting out
the destroyed logs without the
home collapsing.
-
- Obviously this was more than a one day job. Plastic
is put up to protect the interior
of the home.
-
- Knowing where to obtain replacement logs that are
going to match existing logs is important.
-
- For years, log maintenance conditioning is what we
accomplish. Here too, we spray a small stream of glycol borate or
borate solution
in lower and extended log upper checks on the
weathered sides.
-
- Here we are working on salvaging and restoring log
ends on the adjacent side of
our damaged area.
